Cuban White Sauce Pasta

07.30.13

To be honest, I’m a red sauce kind of a girl, but my husband has an obsession with white sauce on pasta! We eat pasta at least  once or twice a week because it’s fast, cheap and easy! It’s always fun to experiment with different shaped pastas and trying to create new sauces. I’ve had my share of failures and sauce disasters, but this one is a winner! I was just being a good little wife one day and I made this lunch for my husband before I left for school and he fell in love! So what’s in this wonderful sauce? I’ll give up the secret deliciousness so you can have a yummy dinner tonight!

Cuban White Sauce:

  • 1/8 of a onion- diced
  • 1/2 tsp of garlic- minced
  • 1 TBS of butter
  • 2 TBS lemon juice
  • 1 tsp of cuban seasoning
  • 3/4 cups of heavy cream
  • handful of grated parmesan cheese

Heat pan on about medium high. First, sauté the onions in the butter until transparent and golden. Add in garlic and let it brown for about 15 seconds. Squirt in as much lemon juice as you want! I know the recipe calls for 2 TBS, but I really like citrus. Add in your cream and stir it all together and let it sit on the stove until it gets a little thicker and starts to bubble. Sprinkle in a little bit of cuban seasoning and add in the parmesan. Stir until desired consistency. I just had the thought that this would be extremely good with a little chicken in it too! Throw some in if your feeling spontaneous! It’s just that easy! Serve it over any type of noodles your heart desires! I hope you enjoy!
